Summary:

God made it clear that when His people who were called by His name would humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, He would forgive their sin and heal their land. He would restore them to their home. He would help them rebuild the temple and the city of Jerusalem. But how was He going to do this? After the fall of Babylon, another world power came in to rule them under the hand of another powerful king? How would God fulfill His promise to Israel in the midst of these circumstances?
